Bringing this thread back and hopefully it'll be used.
With Warmind's release looming and the changes to the Power Cap, we need to get back in the groove of raiding.
We'll soon have a new Raid Lair, the Spire of Stars. That's three raids dropping gear that will increase our Power Level. One will be new and will take longer, the other two we need to get back to doing so they won't take as long.
There'll also be unique rewards for grinding Valor rank in Quickplay (and Glory in Competitive), and well PvP will always be better in a group.
Let's get to scheduling and get a Raid night going again.
Thanks to those two raids tonight, my Warlock, who has never seen the Leviathan, has the full Calus set and three of the five Argos set. I'll just need to buy the Argos helm/bond when they come up for sell.
That's pretty stupid considering how much of a grind it was to get full raid armor for all three characters in D1.
As Sand is already aware, I created an event for May 11th to attempt the new Raid Lair. So far we're at 4/6.
I won't create an event for it, but depending on where our power level is at I wouldn't mind trying to squeeze in at least one raid (probably Eater of Worlds) on Thursday night for the power level drops.
I don't know. I doubt it'll be too high since they said power climb will be slow once you hit the soft cap (and even slower from 370-380). Normal NF is still 270, and both current raids are 300 despite the 330 cap. Don't know if they'll make this be higher power or not since they didn't the first one.
As I always do on raid day, went ahead and went into the new raid to look around. The 370 enemies are definitely no joke. I died from pretty much every possible way in the area, so mechanically opening this raid looks like a mixture of Totems and the opening of Wrath of the Machine.
EDIT: Monk, you know I don't care for Datto as a content creator (nothing against him personally), but feel bad for him. Apparently he's been in the raid for over 12 hours and hasn't beaten it. His original group, that he's been all the raids with on day one called it quits after 10 and a half hours.
I've avoided reading about mechanics, but apparently the boss is a big gear check. The final encounter is 380. Unless you're in the 373 range, it's going to be difficult.
Really eager to get in there, but who knows when we'll all be high enough light with this crappy system of gearing up. This raid was made by Vicarious Visions, so I'm interested in seeing what another studio can do for a raid. Apparently they made a doozy. Seeing lots of folks say it's harder than King's Fall.

We need to try and find some times to knockout milestones and raids this week on multiple characters. I don't think the new raid is worth doing until at least half of us are in the 370s. Fun to try to learn the mechanics, but if we won't be able to beat it due to the gear check, it'll just be a waste of time.
With Chris and Peppermint playing again, that should give us a few options on nights when people aren't available. We did Calus last night in 1 hour, our fastest run of that. Had no wipes, but had a sloppy outing on the Baths and of course letting all the banners get reclaimed going to Calus bumped up the time a little bit too.
Also need to try and get you VA folks to hop into Mars solo and have two of you swap instances by fast traveling until three of you end up in the same instance. Monk was there when David and I did it for Court of Oryx. Once you're in the same instance, others can join on y'all and we can try to advance in EP. Don't think this should be a priority until we get to 370 either though.
I'll definitely be around for milestones this week. Had hoped to get to my Warlock before reset but I'll get him through the story today. Did get my Hunter to 360 and my Titan to 358 (356 without moving guns).
Didn't say anything when we ran Calus last week, but definitely noticed this.
It took a lot more damage than usual to bring his shield down while you guys were in the shadow realm. Even when Constant died and made it four of us in throne, I did not think we were going to bring that shield down in time the first time .
We managed Calus under one hour (59 minutes). One of these days we should really take the time to learn the shorts in the underbelly to skip the door opening crap as that just adds so much time for no reward.
Argos was 38 minutes, which while we wiped once I think might be our fastest?
Went back in after everyone got off and did the keys in the underbelly. Snagged two 373 exotic engrams.
If anyone is around tomorrow evening/night, I still need to do heroic strikes.
Sweet, I need six heroics and a NF (well 9 heroics, but the warlock don't matter to me).
Could have some bad weather tomorrow, so assuming power/internet stays on, I'll be around. If you don't see me online, shoot a message anyway and I'll get on as soon as I can.
And we're at the point now, I'd like to try the new raid sometime soon. Although until we hit 385, I'd still rather complete the other two and for sure get drops rather than spend two hours attempting the new one and get one thing.
We need more people playing. Was hoping Chris would come back. David doesn't seem to have any interest and neither does Paul. Would say use Guided Games for Friday night's when Saint can't raid, but we can't do that because Constant isn't in the clan.
