Show was decent but as is usually the case with these big four shows, some questionable decisions held it back.
3 Squash matches and 2 DQ finishes in title matches kind of hurt the quality IMO. Of the three squash matches only the Balor one made sense. Bliss definitely should have been competitive against Rousey and having your top heel on Raw get destroyed is terrible booking when your new champ is a face and the next challenger is a face as well.
I get Styles/Joe is building towards the Hell in a Cell match but having a non-finish right as the match was picking up steam hurt it. I also hated the fact that the match was so low on the card.
Lastly agree with Lesnar going down so easy, made no sense.
This show dragged. Too long. The booking was nonsensical at best... this didn't light a candle to NXT the prior evening. It isn't even close. They really need to go ahead and have whoever is in charge of NXT's bookings and so on handle the entire company. I don't know if that's Trips or whoever it is. It's a catastrophe.
Rousey has come up too fast. I agree that she shouldn't have won last night.
Lesnar going down the way he did last night... it honestly almost felt like Lesnar-Goldberg Mania in some ways. I guess he's done with WWE? He may as well be. I hope he is at this rate.
If the smarks and the Internet needed any more excuses to hate on Reigns because of "forced booking" or whatever you want to call it then last night was a new low. His Superman punches were missing a mile wide and Lesnar was not even close to being as hurt as he has been in previous matches and boom! It all ends with a spear? C'mon.
At least we have a full time champ again but lordy the booking was past atrocious and unbelievable here. Think about the virtual carnage Lesnar has left in his wake since he came back and the way it all ended last night. Unreal.
Things would have been much better if Strowman had won the belt back at No Mercy.
I enjoyed all three squash matches---Bliss and Owens can both get their heat back easily. Although, knowing what Owens could have been it still irks me to see him get squashed at all but that ship sailed a long time ago...
Booking of the main event was typical idiocy. Brock, the guy who is leaving, gets to lay out Braun, the guy primed to be the next 'Austin' in terms of booking and then loses clean in an anticlimax to Roman. Unless we are getting a Brock/Braun match before Lesnar is gone, that makes no sense at all.
Really enjoyed Miz and Bryan. Great story and the start of what should be a really good series of matches. Dolph vs Rollins was great too. I still don't like a spiked apron DDT just being a filler move in a match. To embrace my inner Cornette, something like that should be a six month injury angle.
I wished I could have just enjoyed Joe vs AJ but WWE had to insert a pointless out of the blue storyline about Samoa Joe suddenly being a creepy family stalker. The match was nowhere near their old TNA barnburners, either.
Also, WWE is so bad at understanding how to book babyfaces now its' almost amazing. Becky turns heel in such a way that she gets the biggest pop of the night while Charlotte gets a 'you deserve it' chant.
