I can get this 30 percent off legit which is going to sweeten the pot for me because I like it enough to consider it.
I do agree that in the early goings on the beta at least that the AI isn't terribly impressive. Since it is a beta and they are looking for feedback we all certainly should send them any kind of feedback like we're talking about here.

I do absolutely love the fact that replaying the story mission not only continues to award XP but also loot.
That's one thing that Destiny absolutely failed at. Do a mission and you don't really get anything, and when you do it again, you really don't get anything (no XP, no loot).
Here, you can actually farm the story missions for both XP and loot. More importantly, playing the mission on hard scales to your current. Do it at level 6, the enemies are level 6. At level 7, the enemies are level 7. That's the way to do it.
I might bite on this today. Gamestop is running a deal where certain trade ins get you $25 off The Division. Luigi's Mansion (3DS) is on the list and I haven't played it for quite some time so I'd probably trade that in.

Look forward to your impressions, particularly since I know you like Destiny just as much as I do.
Was excited for this and had it penciled in for day one, but the beta, while good, was enough to back me off that. Just don't know how much legs it'll have for me, since I didn't find the gunplay in the somewhat tedious battles to be particularly fun. Might have had a different opinion on it with better guns though. And that, for me is the big thing with Destiny, at the end of the day in spite of whatever issues it has, the actual core game of running around highly mobile and shooting things makes Destiny so much fun regardless of how many times you've done it. The shooting just feels right and fun in that game, the beta for this the shooting just felt tedious since there was so many enemies throwing grenades and you were forced to stay behind cover and take pot shots.
So definitely looking forward to seeing what you think about it from a solo perspective.
It's fun. I'm a fan of cover based shooters so I knew that wouldn't be an issue. I did get a burst fire sub machine gun that I like right before I got off. Seems like that's going to be my favorite way to go in order to be a little more conservative with my ammo.
Character creation is a bit limited though that really isn't that big of deal IMO. I saw a comment earlier where a guy said something to the effect of "why are there like 35 neck tattoos and only 5 hairstyles?" I took it to be an exaggeration but it isn't. There is indeed 35 neck tattoos and only a handful of hairstyles.
From the bit I played and the little bit I watched prior to leaving this morning it seems like there is a good amount of side content, which is good. It also appears that you can replay certain missions (might just be limited to sieges but not sure) at higher difficulties for better drops.
I also enjoy that you aren't forced to play with randoms, that was one thing I was a little fuzzy about going into this. I don't mind playing with random people (obviously prefer friends) but I typically like to get my bearings about me before doing so. I'm sure a siege is easier (I've only done one) with a group but you absolutely can do it on your own, at least from what I've seen so far. There is matchmaking if you want to play with a group and don't have friends online though.
From what I saw in the stream from one of the guys who was close to max level this morning, he said the story is pretty nonexistent. The little bit I've seen on my end has been pretty bare bones.
I know people want to compare this to Destiny for some reason but it honestly from a loot and character (not gameplay) dynamic it feels more like Diablo.
I do plan on putting some hours into this through the week and will have a lot more to say but it seems fun enough to warrant the purchase for now. I need to see the end game stuff in action though before I'd be willing to commit to the season pass though.

You'll be maxed out for sure by the time I get around to it.
If I even end up getting around to it. I'm fairly set on April, but if Bungie drops the Spring Update by April 14th or announces it for shortly there after, I wonder how much I'll likely play the game. Will it be in heavy rotation going back and forth between the two, or will it join Bloodbourne, MGSV, WWE, and a bunch of others sitting on a shelf waiting to be played at some point when I get tired of Destiny (which realistically isn't likely to happen)?
I don't know if it'll have the Destiny lasting appeal for me but that's a hard thing to judge a game on. Right I'm having fun with it and I expect by the end of the week I'll decide whether or not I want to dive into the season pass or not.
Good question. Lots of people on the servers at once and people are getting assigned would be my guess.
I have something I wanted to add to my piece. First off....add our exchange here and then add this:
I was able to get some good feedback from at least one person who is way ahead of me in this game.
Take this for whatever it's worth but what I'm seeing here definitely jives with what I have been picking up everywhere:
"Just did the Challenge daily. Took 3 hours! It was very intense and yes very bullet-spongy. For the time it took, it would be more efficient to just farm DZ and according to Reddit the Challenge Modes only giving out ilvl 30 High-end whereas you can find 31+ in the DZ.
So honestly I think it's safe to say Challenge Modes are NOT efficient for gear farming, at all. I won't bother doing more without a premade group.
I am at 25 hours total according to UPlay. "
I wrote and asked:
" have about 6 hours into the game and haven't made it into the Dark Zone yet.
As someone who is obviously a bit ahead of me in the game.... what say you about the status of the online and hacking complaints? Is this game headed for disaster or is this recoverable?
What are you all seeing?
Anyone feel free to answer of course. "
" Having a hard time unlocking the weapon/armor bonuses because they require specific health/tech values and I've just been stacking firearms.
Pro-tip on gear: Focus on superior quality (purple). Most of the yellows (high-end) you find will be GARBAGE."
Good tips and then he wrote directly to me:
"I have done precisely zero PvP. Everyone in the DZ has been very cooperative so far. Nobody has fired a single shot at another player, everyone I pass asks me to group up.
So yeah the DZ is not a PVP zone despite how it was marketed. Going Rogue is actually pretty stupid.
As for hacks -- from what I've read, nothing has changed from the beta. Even your ammo is still stored clientside. Just ridiculous, Ubisoft... "
This is more specific and meaningful and he definitely corrobates and confirms tons of feedback I've been cataloging. Thanks Tainted!
Some of the big name streamers had it early and then they just grinded. I'm averaging about a level per hour of gameplay. I'd probably be low 20's had I played this morning but I make up some ground tonight. Not rushing it but I do want to try and hit level 30 before Sunday night.

The gameplay reminds me of Defiance, just with more emphasis on cover and obviously a million times better looking and without all the people running around.
A lot easier than the beta since I've decent weapons the whole time. I've only died once and that was because I rolled back into a corner and couldn't get away from a mission cleaner boss. Died loads in the beta.
Yup, I've died several times but when it's happened it's been fair and made sense. No complaints to speak of.
I'm having fun with it...it's addictive... since I'm a technothriller fan anyways I eat this stuff up. I haven't gone to the Dark Zone yet. I hit safe houses, unlock them, hit the sit rep, hit the map...tons to do.
