Here's a video of a super boring game of IB on Midtown.
I was using Nightshade, just switching things up for me trying to get ready for the update. Nightshade of course is just a Lightwight pulse, the only PVP buff it's getting is an increased precision multiplier, but we don't know how much that will be.
This video shows what the biggest problem with the TTK is right now. Dude jumps up, and my shot could not have been any better... every bullet from each burst hit for a crit save for the first burst when I pre-fired. I shot for 1.4 seconds, just did break his shield as he was already falling back down behind cover. In D1, he would've been dead, and I would've won that 1v1 (he didn't even get a shot in on me) because my accuracy would've been rewarded.
You'll see it again, just a few seconds later. Every shot a crit. Same thing. When the TTK is so slow that you can't get a kill unless the person is right out in the open unable to get to cover there's a problem. In the beta, Nightshade was doing 22 crits at much further range than I am in this video where it's doing 20. If it did that damage, the guy possibly would've been dead because across eight shots it would've been 16 more damage (176 instead of 160). Nightshade is the same archetype of a Hawksaw/PDX-45 from D1. Those did 25 crits.
The 450 AR does 22 crit. AR's are, by design, low skill weapons. And they're low skill because they are vastly more forgiving than any other primary. When you "balance" all other weapons to have the same TTK as the 450 AR's, you're not doing anything really. AR's should remain viable, but what exactly is the downside of using a weapon that will allow you to not hit every headshot and still get the kill over someone using a different weapon and missing a headshot and getting a body instead?
