Jon Moxley/Dean Ambrose's latest episode of Talk is Jericho is without a doubt the best expose/takedown of everything wrong with WWE's current creative process since Punk's original Art of Wrestling Podcast with Colt Cabana.
To say he doesn't hold back is an understatement. Stop reading this and go listen to it right now.
I'm not surprised he hated that last heel turn they tried to do with him and basically ret-conned. Plus the idea coming up to use that illness as an angle? Vince comes across absolutely hideously here. Appalling.
When my internet is better post repair...whenever that happens... I have a feeling Moxley here is speaking a lot of truth for a LOT of people. Really. This is the closest to CM Punk 2 and I appreciate that he still tries to be gracious, classy, and professional at the same time he's indicating some real underlying problems.
I would love to know what the line was. You can speculate of course, but I'm having a hard time coming up with anything that would lose sponsors and get someone fired.
I mean this is the same company that had Nikki tell Brie "I wish you'd died in the womb," and had Paige mock Reid Flair's death. Vince just has an incredibly warped sense of humor.
I would never advocate for a union, I think that would be a terrible thing for wrestling, but there's absolutely nothing stopping these wrestlers from holding a meeting with Vince and outright telling him they aren't doing this stupid crap anymore. Either change the way you do things, or we'll go home.
What's he gonna do? Fire them all, bury all of them? They're already buried by terrible storylines, if you want to call them that, and 50/50 booking. Best roster since the early 90s, not an actual star amongst the whole bunch.
Vince has no reason to care so long as they ultimately do what he says anyway, and why should he? The company is making more than it ever has before and he's old.
Gonna need a lot more Ambrose's before he gets the message.
