While Destiny hasn't fully embraced deep builds (they should) they have at least been dipping their toes into the water the last few seasons. That said I thought it'd be nice to have a place to put builds we are enjoying each season.
For me I've been messing around with an Arcstrider build with my Hunter.
Tyrant's Surge (Seasonal Artifact mod) Crucial piece at this allows for both Arc Melee damage and Arc Grenade damage to generate a warmind cell
Thunder Coil (Seasonal Artifact mod) This is going to add bonus damage to all your Arc Melee abilities
Sheltering Energy (Arc Seasonal Armor Mod) This allows you to gain an overshield each time you pick up a warmind cell.
Subclass: You want to run Way of the Warrior. the key parts of this subclass are Combat Flow, Deadly Reach, and Combination blow. I also suggest running Gambler's Dodge. Not only does Gambler's Dodge generate melee energy when around enemies but the roll dodge makes it easier to roll into the warmind cells.
How it works: Punch. All. The. Things.
Seriously this build is meant to be hyper aggressive. You punch an enemy and generate a warmind cell and roll into it giving you an overshield. Also getting melee kills is going to regenerate your health which is helpful in a pinch if you get shot before the overshield kicks in. Dodging also grants you Deadly Reach and brings back your melee making it so you almost always have your melee ability. Once you have your timing down you in essence are punching all red bars with one shot healing with an overshield and building stacks of Combination Blow. When stacked with the bonus Arc Melee damage you melee yellow bars with ease and can even take down tougher enemies with a handful of melee shots as well (think Nightmares at the Alter of Sorrow on the Moon)
You have some flexibility with the rest of the build. I personally like the additional Rasputin mod that allows you to take less damage from enemies near Warmind cells (I forget the name) since you are constantly generating cells and are up close to enemies the whole time. Don't get me wrong you aren't going to be taking this build into high level Nightfalls but so far this has been the most fun I've had playing Arcstrider in Destiny and really reminds me of the D1 days of running No Backup Plan on a Void Titan and just becoming an orb machine.
Also if you have one doesn't hurt to throw on a shotgun with One Two Punch on it since it works with this build well.
You can also punch people out of their Supers if you get the drop on them and have your stacks as well which can lead to hilarious results
