Well that's been confirmed for a while though.
Agreed with Aztecross completely.
I was always one of the few who didn't have hopes after the Activision split. It was clear that D2's problems were the result of Bungie, not Activision. Activision's two teams provided Destiny 2 with its best content drops. It's been downhill ever since.
The company is made up of woke commies, but they're greedier than almost any of gaming company. It's just funny because they're made up of people who would trash capitalism whenever given an opportunity. Nickel and dime the playerbase at every opportunity. Now they expect you to pay for dungeons separately.
It's a joke when you consider Hello Games has less than 50 people working for them but put out huge updates to No Man's Sky and completely for free. No season passes, no never-ending supply of new cosmetics to charge players for, nothing.
That's not to say that Bungie shouldn't charge for content, but when you compare their paid content to No Man's Sky free content, it's laughable. Every season is the same. Every event is the same. It's as lazy as a studio as big as Bungie could possibly be.
But we should expect nothing less from the company where the employees spend their days forming "inclusive" groups like Black@Bungie, Trans@Bungie, Queer@Bungie, and however many more they have. Instead of working on the game, these groups then spend their time making up BS to lecture the rest of the studio on, like we they came up with the list of local black owned businesses that their fellow co-workers were supposed to support.
They are the pre-Elon Twitter of gaming studios.

I have to agree. I can get what I want out of the game and still play it obviously but I'll be damned if I didn't agree with Aztecross completely and we have been saying it for a while that the sad truth is: Leaving Activision wasn't the good news we had hoped it would be after all.
Fair.

I was kind of excited for the Destiny x Assassins Creed crossover. Eventhough Valhalla is no longer being supported and I've done all the real content, I still may buy the big D2 content pack in. For $20 you get three unique D2 themed weapons, two unique full armor sets (legit Shaxx and Saint 14), a mount and raven. That's fair. Especially since it isn't just cosmetics, but the weapons are unique with themed perks (like a Thorn poison sword) and the armor also unique perk set. Plus, in Valhalla you can make any of the armor look like it, so a true ornament. Bungie is just out of their minds greedy though. First of all, the Assassin's inspired armor looks mostly terrible. The Warlock one is ok. But of course, it's Destiny, so you can't apply these ornaments to exotic pieces. Since the chest piece is the best piece in the Hunter and Warlock set, and both have great exotic chest pieces, there's no point. The bigger issue though, $20 for the ornament on one character. If you want all three sets, that's $60. If you want the ship, sparrow and ghost, that's another $25 (on "sale" from $28). That's roughly $85 for armor ornaments, and three more cosmetics that truly don't matter. Outside of the ghost, they don't even look all that Assassins Creed like either. Expect nothing less from the company that wants more and more money while delivering less and less content. We couldn't even get new exotic armor this season. What a joke Bungie has become. EDIT: LMAO, I didn't even notice the Up My Sleeve hidden blade Finisher. That's another $10. None of the armor will be available for Bright Dust, as the Fortnite armor was. That's $95 if you wanted all of the Assassin's Creed cosmetics. $4 cheaper than the entirety of Lightfall, the four season passes, and the dungeon pass. lootplex.com/2022/12/06/destiny-2s-assassins-creed-crossover-is-a-ripoff/

Greedy optics. We go back to "it's too bad Activision didn't keep them/didn't stick with Activision" and the rest of those talking points. In vain, I can only hope enough people vote with their wallets and don't buy that stuff. The Valhalla side of that coin seems fairer.
As for the season itself, it's meat and potatoes more of the same stuff with a different coat of paint. I'm going to get what I want out of it. Some of the predictions were dead wrong and others were right.

Season is fun enough at the start. Battlegrounds is alright.
The weapons seem cool.
Probably won't be playing much until Monday, whenever they fix the API. Game is, for me at least, downright unplayable without DIM. I'm not a dev, but I see no reason why the Vault can't exist inside the menu. To that end, the Vault should also be broken up by weapon type or at least filterable to some degree. Again, in game, not having to rely on third party services.

100 percent agreed.
No DIM and no app for LFG or anything is brutal. I'm getting a little cleanup work done but that's about it.

But Riot, they need to charge for that stuff so they can give us free Pride Transmat effects.

Got a sweet Ikelos SMG with Perpetual Motion and Voltshot, allowing me to put down my Brigand's Law.
Four more patterns and I'll be crafting a similar one.
I'm liking what I've seen of the dungeon. So far I've solo'd the opening, jumping puzzle, and first encounter all blind. Stopped at the first boss, gonna need to rethink my strategy. Made it DPS but got overwhelmed by ads. Will be easier with Weakend Clear and Solo Operative mods.

I've watched Esoterick's videos because...well...the usual spectacle of solo mastery that I will never be able to do and as usual, this dungeon will be no exception. At least I get some good ideas.
I wasn't sure about the puzzle in the opening except I know you have to follow the tubes but I wasn't sure about order and I ultimately get overwhelmed with cheap splash fire. It's more trouble than it's worth so when the AFI and LFG are back up I'll get into it. It's a shame everything was out for the entire weekend. Lame.
It's been eye opening for me to see just how spoiled by DIM and all the rest of it.

So nice to have DIM back!
I've greatly enjoyed the first week of the season. They've also been very generous with the Deepsight versions of the seasonal weapons, which is great to see.
I played enough in week one to make to season rank 28, which is a decent amount because I had zero bounties saved up, only played one character, and didn't do anything in a fireteam to get the bonus XP. I'm one artifact level up away from unlocking Solo Operative.
The Dawning is back and for whatever reason, I've always enjoyed it. It's a silly little grind that allows you to do pretty much anything, so it's not as tedious as Festival of the Lost (though I do wish I would've played that enough to get the Seal... next year I guess).

Make sure you're using the Starfarer 7M ship from Season 12 if you're doing Dawning grinding. Good chance to get Dawning Spirit whenever you get an ingredient.

I've made it to the final boss on the new dungeon solo. So far, I've gotten him to half health, but have gotten overran with adds or finding myself with no heavy ammo.
In a group, I think this will probably be the easiest dungeon yet and possibly the fastest too. That said, I like it a lot. It's not quite Prophecy, but it's a fun one.

I went in with a couple of good randoms who carried me and showed me the works. I was happy about how it went because while I learned I was crazy on fire support and both of them complimented me numerous times and said that doing the puzzles would have been impossible had I not been as good on cover fire as I was. I had something like 2 million damage or some crazy figure like that when it was done.

I did it!
It doesn't count as a solo clear because I didn't do it all in on sitting, but who cares I'll get that later.
5,640,404 damage

I was able to do regular Seraph base mission to get the new exotic solo. That puzzle room was a PITA but other than that it was pretty cool once I understood what it wanted, where, and how it all worked. I'm not sure what Legend is for yet. I'll be doing with a team. Apparently this new Pulse has multiple exotics which is a new trick. I never have and never will be able to do a dungeon solo. Ever.

I've solo'd every dungeon but Duality, and all but Grasp flawless (tbh, don't care for the Grasp flawless emblem).
This new dungeon is easy, super easy. Not necessarily to flawless, but just to do. The problem with it is the boss damage phases. Bungie says they design dungeons with solo in mind, but there's no way these boss damage phases were designed with solo players in mind. Both are bad in their own way.
The first boss is super easy, mechanic and add wise. It just takes too long on console for a solo player to shoot all of the eyes the PC player can or a group would. That makes for a short damage phase. So it ends up taking five or six phases.
The final boss is a pain for the same reason in that it just takes too many phases. Doing that twice with a group would be fairly easy. But when you're having to do the nodes, kill adds, avoid the boss, pay attention to the buff timer, etc it's a lot when you have to do it seven or eight times depending on your ammo situation.
Warlocks have a little easier time with the DPS because of Well and a fusion grenade spam build, they can two phase it or most likely for most players three phase it. Just because the boss is tuned to take more damage from abilities, so fusion grenades that you can spam and plus when standing in your own Well of Radiance, or weapon damage counts as super damage.
Feel like they should have a health tuner based on how many people are playing it, especially with really short damage phase windows.
New mission was awesome. Enjoyed it a lot. Will check out the legend version later.

LOL no way in hell dungeons are designed for solo players.

Designed for solo just meaning no mechanics that require more than one person.
Duality, while obviously soloable, has begun to shift the design into more mechanics in every phase with timers. Not really a fan of that.
Every dungeon up until Duality was pretty straightforward and simple in design.
The new one isn't strict like Duality, but its boss phases are worse for solo players than any pre-Duality dungeon boss.
Did a casual, not rushing Prophecy solo Tuesday night in about 40 mins. 1 phased the first boss, would have two phased the final boss had I not messed up.
